Kayaking on Westport Harbor and The Let - in Westport MA Rating: One Star - A tidal estuary. Marshes. White herons. Paddle time was 1 hour and 50 minutes. I started my paddle 2 hours+ before high tide and finished my trip before high tide.   Put in at Route 88   in Westport MA. Paddle into The Let   and return. Paddle around Westport   Harbor and return. Estimated round trip   distance = 6+ miles Horseneck Beach   State Reservation Best to start trip 1 hour   before high tide. The plan is to paddle eastwards to the other side of the bridge. Paddling under the Route 88 bridge over the Westport River. Now on the eastern side of the Route 88 bridge. A white heron on the banks of Westport River. A guy with a sailing gear. I initially followed this route next to the road. Now out of the roadside coves. Will go around the Horseneck Beach reservation on my right eastwards. Fisherman on Westport River. Not exactly sure what he is trapping with all those metal cages. A couple of kayakers on Westport River's The Let. Continuing my southeastward paddle. Horseneck Beach reservation on my right. On my right is the cove just before nearing the end of The Let. A jet-skier on The Let. I have reached the end point of my paddle with the residences at The Let in front of me. Pivoting to my left . . . Just turned around. The Horseneck Beach State Reservation on my left. Back to the channel with the fishermen. Looking to my right, one can paddle upstream on the Westport East branch. An osprey's nest on Westport River. Heading back westwards to the Route 88 bridge. A stand-up paddler on Westport River. Paddling westwards under the Route 88 bridge over the Westport River. I ventured a little bit past the boat ramp on the left. Just turned around and now paddling to the boat ramp. Landed. Paddle time is 1 hour 50 minutes.
