At the public access launch to Watchaug Pond in Charlestown RI. Trip date is June 2017. The ramp to Watchaug Pond. The Boston Kayaker just launched on Watchaug Pond. Turned to my right, will circle Watchaug Pond counter-clockwise. The winds are creating waves that makes this more like a sea-harbor than an inland pond. On right is the public beach. Just north of the public beach is the private Camp Watchaug. Camp Watchaug. Continuing northwards . . . A private beach on the Watchaug. This flag is on the tip of the peninsula jutting into Watchaug Pond. Past the flag, I am now heading to the northeast corner of Watchaug Pond. To my left, the rest of Watchaug Pond viewed from the northeast corner. Veering to my left, now facing westwards. Flowers on the banks of Watchaug Pond. Oh a nice secluded beach. Landed for a short break. Back on the waters of Watchaug Pond. In front of me is the northcenter corner of Watchaug Pond. To my left, Watchaug Pond viewed from the north end. Continuing westwards. Another kayaker on Watchaug Pond. In front of me is the northwest corner of Watchaug Pond. Veering to my left, will cut off the northwest corner on my right. Approaching the western shore, a pair of kayakers hanging out. Now paddling southwards with the western shore on my right. Tubers on Watchaug Pond. Wavy Watchaug! Approaching the ramp I launched from. Landed. Paddle time is 1 hour and 32 minutes. |
