Kayaking on Ware River - in Ware MA Rating: One-and-a-Half Stars - A quiet and undeveloped stretch of the Ware River in the town that gave the river its name. I paddled Columbus Day and the foliage colors are just peeking beneath the overcast skies. The Ware River on this stretch was flowing nicely which made a pleasant round trip: harder initially upriver then easier on the way back. I paddled all the way to the Upper Church Street bridge until I see the I can not paddle against the flow anymore. I also paddled the pond-like south of the put in to the dam.   Put in at Park Street   in Ware MA. Paddle upriver to   bridge and return. Paddle to dam   and return. Trip date is September 2014. The Boston Kayaker just launched on Ware River from Greenville Park. Veering left, will paddle north upriver. A power station on Ware River. I can see the Upper Church Street bridge. Ware River is flowing strongly here just below Upper Church Street bridge. I have reached the end of my upriver paddle and will turn around. Now paddling with south with the Ware River current. The Greenville Park launch area. The ramp where I put in earlier. Will paddle farther south to the dam. A couple on a boat fishing on Ware River. The buoys marking off the Ware River Reservoir dam. Just turned around and now paddling north to the launch area. Landed. Total paddle time was 1 hour 25 minutes.
