Kayaking on Moosehead Lake and Hiking on Mount Kineo - in Rockwood ME


Rating: One Star - This is a short but choppy route. Add the 3-hour hike to the summit of Mount Kineo to complete the fun. For the pictures below, we took the ferry and did not kayak.

  Put in at Kineo dock
  in Rockwood ME.
Paddle to Mount Kineo and land
  near the hiking trailhead.
Hike to the summit of
  Mount Kineo (3 hours).
Paddle back to
  Rockwood ME.
Estimated round trip paddling
  distance = 2+ miles
  Ferry from Rockwood to
  Mount Kineo available.
Nice vista of Moosehead Lake on
  the summit of Mount Kineo.

We did not hiked to the summit. Instead, we took the Bridle Trail to get down.
