Kayaking on Matapédia River - from Saint-André-de-Restigouche to Matapédia QC

Rating: Three-and-a-Half Stars - The Matapédia River was flowing and has a few Class 1 and one maybe Class 2 rapids. I used the services of Nature Aventure in Matapedia for kayak rental and transport to the put-in. Very good sunny day. Beatiful mountains all green. I got wet in one rapids the others (Class 1) are easily navigable. Paddle time was 2 hours 20 minutes.

That is Coralie. Trip date is July 2023.

The put in is under the Route 132 bridge where the Assemetquagan River joins the Matapédia River.

The Boston Kayaker just launched on the Matapédia River.

Right in front of the launch is this canoe of fly-fishers.

This will turn out to be a sunny trip (good). Temperature in the 80'sF.

I got wet on these second set of rapids!

Rail bridge ahead.

Rail bridge over the Matapédia River.

More rapids.

The bridge at Saint-Alexis. Means I am just over half-done distance-wise.

Took a few minutes break to stretch my legs and butt.

Now I can see the bridge. Take out is on right just before bridge.

Paddle time was 2 hours and 20 minutes.
