Turn right to go below dam. Trip date is July 2022. The launch to Kennebec below Shawmut Dam. The Boston Kayaker on the banks of the Kennebec River below Shawmut Dam. Launching on the Kennebec. Looking at the am behind me. Paddling south downriver. About 7 minutes into my trip and I can see the I-95 bridges over the Kennebec. Rocks on the eastern side of the river. I can see a pair of deers on the river right bank. Approaching quietly . . . Bambi and Mom on the Kennebec River. Continuing towards the I-95 bridges. A truck crossing the Kennebec River on the I-95 southbound in Fairfield ME. The I-95 bridges. The first one is the south bound and the second the north bound. Paddling under the I-95 bridges over the Kennebec River in Fairfield ME. Right after passing the I-95 bridges, the railbridge becomes visible. I can see the rocks on the left are funneling the river to a narrow opening on right. Just got past some Class I rapids. Now approaching the Bridge Street bridge. I will follow right bank . . . Paddling under the Bridge Street bridge over the Kennebec River in Fairfield ME. Take out is on river right soon after passing the bridge. Paddling time is 58 minutes. The parking lot at the take out at Water Street in Fairfield. |
