Kayaking on Jones River - in Kingston MA


Rating: One-and-a-Half Stars - Good trip here. From the put in, downriver to the mouth of Jones River and a view of Kingston Bay. Then upriver until the river is narrower than your paddle. Paddle time was 2 hours and 1 minute.

  Put in at Jones River Heritage Center
  on Landing Road in Kingston MA.
Paddle downstream to
  Kingston Bay and return.
Paddle upriver
  and return.

Just launched to Jones River. It was about 1 hour 25 minutes before high tide.


Veered to my right downriver, looking to my right.

It was before 7:30am when I started and the sun is still low.
High tide is 8:48am.


As the tide is rising, the river flow is imperceptible.





Just following the Jones River downstream.

The Kingston town dock. I was here earlier and would like to launch except parking is for Kingston residents only. :(


Past the tow ramp, onto Kingston Bay.








Will follow north side of the Jones River on my left.











Past the peninsula is this small beach owned by the Bay Farm.





Took a break and a photo opportunity.


Back to Jones River.


Veered right, will follow the bank on the right upriver.
