Kayaking on Housatonic River - and Lake Lillinonah from New Milford to Southbury CT


Rating: Three Stars - This is a beautiful lake and river. The mountainous river banks gave a gorge-like scenery. Passing powered boats and their wakes punctuate an otherwise calm water.

  Put in at Addis Park on Grove
  Street in New Milford CT.
Take out at Route 133 bridge
  in Bridgewater CT.
Estimated distance
  = 6+ miles

  Caution: 3+ miles downstream of
  take out is Shepaug Dam
River can be busy
  with fast boats.
