Kayaking on Lake Durant - in Blue Mountain Lake NY Rating: One-and-a-Half Stars - I had an enjoyable morning paddle on Lake Durant on July 2015. In the heart of the Adirondacks and just outside town center of Blue Mountain Lake NY. The lake is smallish and perfect for an under-2-hour paddle trip. My actual paddle was 1 hour 12 minutes.   Put in at Durant Road in   Blue Mountain Lake NY. Paddle around Lake Durant   and Rock Pond then return. Portage around   foot bridge. The marker to the launch to Lake Durant from Durant Road in Blue Mountain Lake NY. Trip date is July 2015. At the launch to Lake Durant. I started early before 8am. Just launched, paddled to my left to the western end and will circle Lake Durant counter-clockwise. I was to lazy to portage around this footbridge. Just turn around and now start my easterly direction along the southern banks of Lake Durant. On the eastern end of Lake Durant is this island in front. Will go behind this island and then head back along the north shore. Two guys fishing from a canoe on Lake Durant. Happy campers at the east end of Lake Durant. Continuing to veer left on my counter-clockwise paddle. Rounding the island (now on the north side) and now facing back west. That's Route 30 / Route 28. A beaver lodge on Lake Durant. That tent are the campers on the launch area. Landed back on the Lake Durant launch. Paddle time was 1 hour 12 minutes.
