Trip date is May 2014 The Boston Kayaker just launched on Buttermilk Bay from Electric Avenue beach. Cloudy skies. On my left is a group of guys fishing. Some construction going on at the Route 6 bridge. Turned to my right for my paddle northwards. On my right is the beach where I will land later. For now, will paddle following coastline on my right. To the right of these houses is the passage way to Little Buttermilk Bay. I am approaching the channel that connects Little Buttermilk Bay to the big sister. I am in the narrow channel connecting Buttermilk Bay and Little Buttermilk Bay. I have reached the southeast end of Little Buttermilk Bay. Will continue counter-clockwise and now circling back. Veering to my left. . . Now paddling back to the bigger Buttermilk Bay. Will now paddle on the channel from Little Buttermilk Bay to Buttermilk Bay. Now coming out of the channel and onto Buttermilk Bay. The plan is to paddle straight ahead to the southern shore of Buttermilk Bay. I will just follow the shoreline to my left and back to my take out. Landed on the public beach on Buttermilk Bay in Buzzards Bay MA. I paddled on Buttermilk Bays for 1 hour and 18 minutes. |
