Kayaking on Westport Harbor and The Let - in Westport MA


Rating: One Star - A tidal estuary. Marshes. White herons. Paddle time was 1 hour and 50 minutes. I started my paddle 2 hours+ before high tide and finished my trip before high tide.

  Put in at Route 88
  in Westport MA.
Paddle into The Let
  and return.
Paddle around Westport
  Harbor and return.
Estimated round trip
  distance = 6+ miles
Horseneck Beach
  State Reservation
Best to start trip 1 hour
  before high tide.

At the boat ramp to Westport River at the southwest side of the Route 88 bridge in Westport MA.
Trip date is August 2016.

The plan is to paddle eastwards to the other side of the bridge.

Now out of the roadside coves. Will go around the Horseneck Beach reservation on my right eastwards.

On my right is the cove just before nearing the end of The Let.

I have reached the end point of my paddle with the residences at The Let in front of me.


Pivoting to my left . . .


Just turned around.

Back to the channel with the fishermen.











Looking to my right, one can paddle upstream on the Westport East branch.
