Kayaking on Taunton River - from Taunton MA to Dighton MA


Rating: Two-and-a-Half Stars - This is a big tidal river route much preferably done riding the tide out. Some marsh, water fowls, a marina, and end at Dighton Rock state park.

  Put in at river front park on East
  Water Street in Taunton MA.
Take out at state park on Bayview
  Avenue in Berkeley MA.
Estimated distance
  = 6 miles
Dighton Rock
  State Park
  Alternate put in / take out at
  Berkeley Heritage Park.
Best to paddle when
  tide is receding.

  Club Marina

The Boston Kayaker's daughter and wife.





The Boston Kayaker just launched into the Taunton River.


It was about 15 minutes after high tide in Somerset MA.

This thing seems to be sucking water from the Taunton River when it is operational.

I can now see the marina. Across that is our landing.




















That one-story white structure is the Dighton Rock Museum.


The landing is right after the Dighton Rock Museum.

To my right is the marina.


Heading directly towards the Dighton Rock Museum on this suddenly-wide river.


























Landed at Dighton State Park. Just behind me is my wife and daughter.
Total paddle time is 1 hour and 50 minutes.
