The Stillwater River looking north from the Muddy Pond Road bridge in Sterling MA.
I launched at this river but aborted my trip after a 100 feet as the river was too shallow.
Pictures taken September 2014.

The launch area is at the north west side of the Muddy Pond Road bridge over Stillwater River.

Between the launch are and the river is this unlocked gate.

Path to Stillwater River put in.

Actual put in is very informal and steep.

From the put in, there is a sign at the bridge clearly saying boating not allowed past the bridge.

The Boston Kayaker just launched on Stillwater River in Sterling MA.

Ok, I did not get more than a 100 feet and got stuck in the shallows.
Looking ahead at those rocks, I decided to back out of this trip.
I looked online at the current river gauge reading at 4.2 feet.
So I would say, paddle when gauge reads above 4.8 feet.
