Kayaking on Nashua River - from Groton MA to Pepperell MA


Rating: Two-and-a-Half Stars - The route starts with a tree-lined river, and then widens out with a lot of dense aquatic vegetation and some islands. The route was of good length, over 2 hours of paddling over varying river scenarios.

Take out at Canal Street
  in Pepperell MA.

Route 225 bridge over Nashua River. Put in is on the south side.
Trip date is July 2011.


Groton Place Wildlife Sanctuary - about 200 feet from the put in. We parked one of our cars here.

We started early and were on the water a little after 8am.















































Petapawag boat ramp.









































We have to zig-zag around this sea of lilies jutting from both sides of the river.


We are now within site of our take out destination. That building and vehicle traffic is in Route 113 / Main Street.


The take out is on the left.


Pepperell canoe launch on Nashua River.


Took us 2 and a quarter hours to do the suggested trip in the map above.
