Right next to the put in is the Mascoma Lake Dam. The put in to Mascoma Lake north basin on Route 4A in Enfield NH. The Boston Kayaker just launched on Mascoma Lake north basin from the Route 4A access. Looking behind at the ramp. Veering to my right, will paddle the Mascoma Lake north basin counter-clockwise. Paddling south easterly direction keeping the shore on my right. Private access area for the campers at Mascoma Lake Campground. This lakeside property is for sale. Looking to my left, the western shore of Mascoma Lake. I can now see the Main Street bridge. Heading south towards the Main Street bridge. On the right of the bridge is the public beach. Too early in the morning (before 8am) for beachgoers. The Mascoma Lake public beach. Passing under the Main Street bridge over the Mascoma Lake. After passing the bridge, veered to my right to check out the boat ramp. Looking to my left, Mascoma Lake south basin. Landed at the boat ramp to take a break. Back on the waters of Mascoma Lake. Looking to my right, the rest of Mascoma Lake. Now passing again under the Main Street bridge to go back to where I came from. After passing the bridge, will go close to the west shore. Now paddling northwesterly, will keep the shore on my right. Looking to my left, the eastern shore of Lake Mascoma. It is still early in the morning and the sun is casting long shadows along the eastern shore. Stand-up paddlers on Mascoma Lake. At the center of the picture is the Payne Road bridge where the dam and put in is. Now heading to the take out where I came from. A couple of paddlers just launched into Mascoma Lake. Landed. Paddle time is 1 hour and 24 minutes. |
