Kayaking on Hamblin and Jehu Ponds - in Mashpee MA

Rating: Two Stars - We start our paddle about 1 hour+ before high tide (oerfect timing). We paddled from the launch first to Hamblin Pond with the wind to our face. Stronger winds once we are into Hamblin Pond and we just turned around to a much easier paddle. Then we u-turned towards Jehu Pond. Took a break on the island in the middle of Jehu Pond. Paddle time was 1 hours 45 minutes.

Today's kayak buddy is the Boston Kayaker's wife.

From the launch, we turned right.
We paddled around Waquoit Bay last year.

Paddling northwards.

We will veer left towards the channel to Hamblin Pond.

About to enter Hamblin Pond.

Strong winds to our faces.

Told my wife to turn around . . .

Paddling back from Hamblin Pond.

Making a left u-turn to go to Jehu Pond.

Now on the channel to Jehu Pond.

On right is the town boat ramp. We could have launced from there and our paddle trip would have been slightly shorter.

Entering Jehu Pond.

We are veering right eastwards to explore the rest of Jehu Pond.

Straight ahead is an island with a small patch of sandy beach.

Landed on the island in the middle of Jehu Pond for a break.

Back on the waters of Jehu Pond.

We are now paddling back.

Leaving Jehu Pond.

Windy and choppy waters.

Entering Waquoit Bay.

Landed. Paddle time is 1 hour 45 minutes.
