US Harbors: Falmouth MA Tides All photos in this website are original and copyrighted. At the kayak launch at Wills Work Road in Masspee MA. Trip date is September 2019. The Boston Kayaker on the shores of Waquoit Bay. Today's kayak buddy is the Boston Kayaker's wife. From the launch, we turned right. We paddled around Waquoit Bay last year. Paddling northwards. We will veer left towards the channel to Hamblin Pond. The channel to Hamblin Pond. Looking behind me . . . Continuing northwards. This boat has 4 motors! Water police. Gas station. About to enter Hamblin Pond. Strong winds to our faces. Told my wife to turn around . . . Paddling back from Hamblin Pond. Making a left u-turn to go to Jehu Pond. Now on the channel to Jehu Pond. On right is the town boat ramp. We could have launced from there and our paddle trip would have been slightly shorter. Entering Jehu Pond. We are veering right eastwards to explore the rest of Jehu Pond. Straight ahead is an island with a small patch of sandy beach. Landed on the island in the middle of Jehu Pond for a break. Back on the waters of Jehu Pond. We are now paddling back. Leaving Jehu Pond. Windy and choppy waters. The town boat ramp on left. Entering Waquoit Bay. Landed. Paddle time is 1 hour 45 minutes. |
