Kayaking on Brooks Pond - in North Brookfield MA

Rating: Two-and-a-Half Stars - Just driving to this place is very relaxing. One gets to experience rural Massachusetts. Brooks Pond is very pretty with many tiny islands in the middle. At the north end, an inlet leads to rushing waters from a beaver dam.

Brooks Pond from the launch.

The Boston Kayaker just launched on Brooks Pond.

Looking west.

Looking north now.

The plan is to paddle northwards to the inlet.

In front of me are islands and I have confusingly many ways to choose from.

I briefly looked westwared to photograph this bird in flight over Brooks Pond.

Brooks Pond has many islands like these.

Looking east . . . I will skip that part of the pond and paddle straight north.

After getting past the initial islands, I can now see the rest of the long body of Brooks Pond.

More islands. Very pretty!

Approaching the narrowing northern section.

This is about the northern end of Brooks Pond.

This looks like the inlet to Brooks Pond.

I can hear rushing waters . . .

A beaver dam!

I can hear the rushing water coming out of this beaver dam.

I turned around and now paddling back into the Brooks Pond.

Back to the Brooks Pond north end.

I am now paddling southwards back to where I came from.

There is this group of canoers resting in that island . . .

I am back to this southern part of Brooks Pond where there are many islands to get around at.

A couple just lauched on their canoe on Brooks Pond.

Landed.
