Kayaking on Lake Attitash and Back River - in Merrimac MA

Rating: One-and-a-Half Stars - This is a good-sized pond that I circled for nearly 2 hours. I particularly like paddling into the greenery of the Back River. Extra half-star for the lake/river combo. You can oogle the water-front houses and their water toys! Paddle time was 1 hour 20 minutes.

The Boston Kayaker just launched on Lake Attitash in Merrimac MA.

Veered left. Today, will circle Lake Attitash clockwise hugging the shore on the left.

On my left is the Indian Head Park.

Continuing my clockwise paddle . . .

Ducks.

Water-front houses and their water toys.

Behind that jutting tree on left will be the Back River.

I am about to turn left into the mouth of the Back River.

Just entered this cove-like mouth of the Back River as it drains into Lake Attitash.

A bed of water lillies on Back River.

Planning to paddle into the Back River as it gets narrower.

Another kayaker in Back River (and Lake Attitash).

I can see the body of the Back River . . .

Now into Back River.

This is I think the best nature shot I got from this trip. The sheer greenery!

This barrier suppose to filter for stuff. Anyway, this will be my point of return.

Just turned around. Now paddling with the flow of the Back River.

It's not really a long paddle to see the Lake Attitash main body,

The resident swan of Lake Attitash and Back River.

Now back into Lake Attitash. Will continue clockwise plan by following shore on left.

The northeast corner cove of Lake Attitash.

Grandma getting ready with her paddle boards.

Looking on my right to the western shore.

Private beach on left.

Landed. Paddle time is 1 hour 20 minutes.
